Men Conversations

The rise of gender-based violence has been a scar on our society. In thinking about the future that the young boys of today, who will be the men of tomorrow, we want to break the cycle.

We created this conversation series to highlight the good examples that young men could look up to for those who are searching for role models. The men featured in the series are from various backgrounds, including finance, academia, engineering, IT, talent recruitment, architectural design and more.

They also cover a broad age range, speaking to the various experiences they have each had across their lives.

Their qualities which stood out for me

• Some are very much outspoken but they are also people of their word

• They exude an inspirational level of confidence which is beneficial for those who are around them

• They are respectful and kind in their approach

• They are principled men

• They know how to differentiate between times. When it is time to work, they work, when it is time to play, they play hard

• They are men who pray

• They are family men

• They are given to service, whatever you find them doing, they do it with full dedication

SAICA Top 35-under-35 Competition 2022

In 2022 I had the privilege of being selected as one of 35 finalists for the competition that recognises young chartered accountants in South Africa for making an impact in the societies they live in. These are young chartered accountants who are exceptional, without exception, as SAICA says.

It was a good experience where I got to be celebrated and celebrated myself as I reflected on the journey it has been. I would like to thank my wife for her support, my mentors and former managers who wrote testimonial letters that formed part of my portfolio of evidence.
